Gregg Lowe (pronounced Lau) ran a part time repair shop out of his property in Cottage Grove for over 25 years. That was until he met and married his wife Kim in 2022. Kim had a home built in Hastings in 2020, so when they married, Gregg sold his house and shop to move to Hastings. Gregg continued to do small jobs in his garage at their house but quickly discovered that he missed having a proper shop space, so he explored options in Hastings, settling on a vacant lot at 3000 Lightbourn Ct. in the industrial court.
They broke ground in December of 2023 and held their grand opening and ribbon cutting on October 10, 2024. The building is roughly 6,000 square feet total with Gregg’s shop and office occupying 3,600 square feet. The remaining 2,400 square feet are set up to be rental space. It has a small office area and its own restroom. A local lawn care business is slated to take control of the rental space in November.
Lowe’s space has front and rear garage doors with three lifts, a metal fabrication space, storage and a longer stall that can be used for oversized vehicle or trailer storage. He has no plans to have a staff outside of himself with his son helping as needed.
